We will kick off our Crawl at Eastern Standard, a bar known for “...Breath(ing) life into forgotten cocktails of the past as well as conjuring up new classics.” In honor of the Pub Crawl, ES will tip its hat to mixology’s past by featuring a dedicated list of Victorian cocktails.

2. Stoddard's

Stoddard's building was built in 1868 and originally housed a corset store. The interior features reclaimed architecture from the original Filene's building and Boston's oldest subway station, among other sites.

As for their cocktails, Stoddard's has created "a cocktail program that rekindled the creative spirit of our forefathers, considering that the cocktail was basically America's only gift to the culinary world. Our menu is inspired by traditions and innovations from the late 1800's; our chipped-ice cocktails draw their recipes from the first cocktail book ever published: The Bon Vivant's Companion. One of the few photographs of the book's author, 'The Professor' Jerry Thomas graces our wall-mounted beer menu. Our bartenders use ice that is hand-chipped at the bar from tempered 10 lb. blocks, themselves cut from 300 lb. blocks on-site."

Stoddard's will be offering complimentary appetizers as well as a special cocktail list for our event.

Drink focuses on looking to history for inspiration; obscure cocktails from eras past get new life here. With no menu, each group is assigned an attendant to help select the perfect cocktail. Guest can pick a drink from the past, or choose one of Drink's updates of a classic.

Even Drink's decor speaks to the past: the "...glassware and other bar paraphernalia is vintage, found at flea markets.”
